Thirteen reasons why you should watch netflix new hit series

April 1, 2017

Thirteen Reasons Why's plot is one hell of a drama. A girl called Hannah commited suicide, and no one seems to know why, at least, that's what people are saying. And then one day, coming back from school, Clay, Hannah's ex co-worker, finds some tapes on his door step. 7 tapes, for 13 reasons Hannah did what she did.

An interesting way of dealing with bullying...

We've all been through high school, at least most of us. And most of the time, it is quite cool, but for some of us, it can be one hell of place to be and to try to discover who you are. Hannah, Clay, and everyone in the series are living proof of that. By commiting suicide and trying to show her bullies their responsability, Hannah digs out high school secrets, giving the bullying theme a new exposure.

A trip through tapes...

The original format of this hit show is its main strength. By discovering the story through Hannah's last messages, we have a singular insight, getting her feelings, her pain, and her disapointment. And even though we are at the middle of our binge watching session, we know secrets are about to be revealed until the very end of it. Hannah is deeply moving, letting us see how it's like to be in her shoes. As the story untangles, paranoia grows stronger, and each character becomes a main suspect.

Clay, the very example of social awkwardness...

Clay is the perfect example of the guy who does not fit in. He is geeky, kind of silent, he sees thing without really understanding them. The only one who seemed to push him forward was Hannah, and now she's gone putting him at the core of the story wandering if he is guilty of something too. Sometimes we hurt people without noticing it, what if it's the case here?

The heavy atmosphere contributes to the mystery and drama behind all of it, putting social medias, and high school life on the front stage.

To conclude...

The best thing you can do is to discover the story yourself. Get ready to cry and to laugh because Thirteen Reasons Why is a slice of life, and a slice of death, reminding us to be aware of what's around us because sometimes, pain is silent, waiting to become stronger than anything else... But at the end, you are the one who needs to fight, or give up, that's your choice, but try to find resaons to stay alive, thirteen or twenty, we don't care, but be safe. BE SAFE.

For those of you who've seen it already, what did you think of it?
